May 2012 Memories

Our first week with our new puppy!

 Bedtime stories

Julia enjoys her new scooter from Grandma!

We finally named our puppy, "Kala," from Disney's Tarzan
Kala is 2 months old here.
 Kala at the Keneaster's house
Enjoying lunch in the playroom.  This was Julia's idea.

Julia decided to stack her markers
and was proud of what she learned to do.
 Mommy loves her little girl
Bradyn in his new super hero pj's

 Love my little boy too

Julia just got her nails done by Mommy
One of her favorite things that Mommy does with her

 Bradyn loves the dirt

Another yogurt popsicle. So easy to make!
 Julia's favorite breakfast, banana bread
 Kala in her crate
 Bradyn absolutely loves her

 Thankfully she doesn't bite hard,
but puppy teeth are still so sharp.
 Bradyn puts up with her
Kala is 10 weeks old here
 Julia loves using markers

This time Julia decided to organize the bowls by color instead of size.
 Julia is showing Bradyn starfall.com
and going through ABC's with him.

 Bradyn's first paid haircut
He was so serious, but didn't cry.

I think he was mad at Mommy
for allowing this hairstylist to cut his hair
Outdoors in the morning in the shade before it gets too intense
Bradyn is getting Kala wet.  She doesn't mind too much.
The kids really love these water toys (the water squirters)
that you can get at the Dollar Tree store.
Grandma got these for them.

We're working on learning colors with Bradyn,
so today was a "blue" day in our home.
(blue clothes and blue toys)

 Bath time with blue toys

The kids love when they get bubbles in the bath

Julia sitting with Daddy while he fixes the door lock for probably the 5th time.  The company (Schlage) that makes our door knob and lock set sent us a replacement part for the lock, which worked temporarily, but then the same thing continued to happen, where the handleset would lock, so that we could not get outside through the front door.  One time Bradyn and I went outside because a delivery truck had arrived, since we were getting rock delivered.  When I tried to come back in our house, we couldn't get in and Julia was inside by herself.  I panicked for a moment, thinking I was going to have to call the police or someone to get to her.  Jeff was at work and I know it would have taken him maybe an hour to get home.  But then I tried to remain calm and thought of something.  I told Julia to get a stool and take it in the garage.  I had to yell to explain to her how to open the garage door, because she was never shown where the light switches and garage door opener were on the wall.  Thankfully I had a cinder block to stem on so I could see her through the windows on our garage door.  Once I could see her, I was able to yell to her the direction of what to do; move the stool that way, etc.  It didn't take too long and she got the garage open.

Julia loves to dress up like a princess.
Today she chose Cinderella.
Here is Kala again, at 2 1/2 months old
She is still a little chewer

Jeff's school year has come to an end and he is on summer break now.  He is applying for a new teaching job at the school district close to home.  So he brought home everything from his classroom, in case he gets the job.  This toy below was one of the things Jeff brought home.   Jeff teaches Geometry and this is a large expanding sphere toy that glows in the dark.  The kids had so much fun playing with it.

 Bradyn digging with Daddy again!

Our slider door in our living room broke.
I know Bradyn is holding a bat here, but that is not the story of how our slider broke.  It was completely an accident.  Jeff was in the back yard weed wacking the yard and he didn't even know it happened right away.  He was standing several feet away, but a rock must have hit the door.  The door shattered, but it is double-paned, so it only affected the outer layer of glass.  Bad news is that it allows more heat in the house and we don't have curtains yet.  It's going to cost around $400 to fix.  Eventually we will get it fixed, but Jeff cleaned it up for now and hopefully we will get curtains to keep some of the heat out this summer.

Not sure why I didn't take any Memorial Day pictures this year.  Makes me sad that I didn't, unless there are pictures on someone else's camera.  I am hoping so; I'll have to check.  We must have just been busy with the puppy or something like Jeff getting his resume and everything ready in hope of an upcoming interview.  I truly can't remember what we did that weekend.  But I know I haven't taken as many pictures as usual.
